Misala is an Africa-first women’s health company focused on designing systems that reflect our realities, from localised diagnostics to science-informed innovation rooted in African biology.

In Her Era is our wellness platform and the first expression of that work. Our products are derived from African traditional medicine, centring botanicals that have been used throughout our history yet remain disregarded in Western medicine. We approach this work with scientific discipline: drawing from existing research, engaging with researchers validating African botanicals, and translating inherited knowledge into modern formulation without diluting its origin.

This publication exists to document the build.

We are a team of engineers, scientists, and clinicians with years of experience across academia and industry who believe that African women should not be treated as edge cases in global health innovation. Together, we are building deliberately by validating what we can at each stage, generating evidence where it is missing, and designing tools that serve African women first.
